The BIG Ball Park

We snuck in a trip to "the big ball park" a couple of weeks back!

Norah decided to play the role of "jock" for the day!

She was in a great mood before we left! She actually posed for pictures and smiled!

Mckenna was not happy before we left. We will leave it at that!

Of course it was the chilliest night of the summer when we went!

Ballpark food! Yum!

Finally she was happy! She loves some selfies!

They both wanted to do the speed pitch!

Family Selfie!

It rained/drizzled through the whole game. Thankfully we were in the upper deck so we were covered. The girls actually sat in their seats for most of the game! I was blown away!

Love this guy!

We ran to Fundamentals in the rain to meet Southpaw!

This girl scoped out Sox gear that was covered in sequins and glitter! She's very glam!

Our first funnel cake! Norah wasn't a fan!

Rob was at the game. He and Norah became best buds! He may have left scared of his little Mae growing up!

Rob taught Norah how to keep score!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Part 2

One of the fun perks of Kids Day at the ballpark is that the kids get to run the bases after the game. This was our first experience with this... the first of many, as this little girl LOVED it!

We had to line up early... like 7th inning stretch early... for a post-game activity. We were near the front of the line, which was good... little sister was tired.

Jim stayed with Mckenna, while I headed to home plate to take pictures....

 And she's off!

Come on kid lets go!

She had fun, did great and is ready to do it again!!
What's funny is that Jim said she didn't touch a single base! Ha!
We will work on that!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Part 1

Yes, another 2 part post... I take a lot of pictures... I like to blog them for me.

Last Sunday we headed out to the Sox game with the girls! We have taken them to at least one game a year since Mckenna was 4 weeks old!

Sunday's game was a Kids Day, so we took advantage of the good deals on tickets and parking, along with the fun perks for kiddos! This was an especially fun trip to the ballpark (although exhausting) because Mckenna was really able to enjoy and participate in all of the different kid activities at the ballpark. Jim and I have both worked at the ballpark in the past and both worked in the different areas of the ballpark that Mckenna got to play in! Super fun!!

Outside the ballpark before the game...
The girls found our brick in Championship Plaza...

Daddy and his girls

We were waiting in line to get in since there was a jersey giveaway for the kids, so Jim and the girls played around while I waited in line.

These pictures of Mckenna just crack me up.
Yes, what a get-up!

We got into the ballpark and got our jerseys.... Kids XL... maybe they will fit in 5 years!
We headed up to Fundamentals, the kids area of the ballpark. It was empty, as there were autograph sessions going on that we skipped.

Mckenna was set to run against Scottie Pods...

She got to do this over and over again because there was no line.

We headed to the kids mini-ball field then for some fielding practice...
Again, she was the only one!

The Mckenna Fan Club!

Time for the batting cages!

Yep, she pulled a "Daddy I can do it myself"

More hitting practice...

Ball pitch...

So sad that it was all done

It had started to get a bit crowded, so we had to wait in line to run again....

We had a fun time exploring Fundamentals with Mckenna!!
