Yesterday the girls' and I headed out on a little adventure!
We ventured up to Libertyville to meet up with Laura and Nicholas and enjoy the day with them.
Our day led us to lunch at McDonald's together followed by a trip up to Carthage College!
Laura and I met up at Carthage during our freshman year! We actually had our first class together (Religion 100)!
And then we pledged together and were roomates... and the rest is history!!
This visit to Carthage was my first since graduation in 2002! They have done tons of construction, the enrollment is about triple... crazy changes!
Our first stop was the new student center and bookstore!
Look at these sweeties!
We have so many fun pictures of them growing up!
I just saw the picture of my digital frame of them from when Nick was born and Mckenna was 6 months old!
Class of 2031 and 2032?!
Pretty sure the bookstore ladies were not as impressed with our cuties!
They caused a bit of a raucous!
Well we took about 30 of these pictures and this is the best... down on the beach!
Our best picture (taken by Mckenna)
So sweet!!
Mckenna really wanted to go touch the water... but we could foresee broken ankles in climbing all those rocks, so we didn't. Next time when they are bigger!
We had a fun time at Carthage exploring some of the new buildings and buying new sweatshirts (since I'm still wearing my Chi Omega one from 2000)
We then headed back to the DeBartolo house and played and drank wine! And ate!
Laura had invited some of our college friends who live around the area over to dinner... so we were joined by Christine, Amanda, Mari and Shannon (and babies)! Such a great night enjoying old friends, good food, and wine!
Robert did his best to wrangle the 5 kids, but it was a losing battle.
Sorry Hot Potato didn't go so hot Robert!
