Norah's First Cereal

Back on Wednesday, September 26th Norah got her first taste of oatmeal cereal!
She loved it and hasn't looked back!!

Yum!!

Of course Mckenna was there to help!

Oatmeal combined with all of your drool was a bit of a fun time!

Yes, Mckenna even wanted to feed you...

Overall I think your first feeding went well!! Yummy!!

Painting with Yogurt

Yep, the title says it right! Tonight Mckenna decided to paint herself with yogurt! I will back track a bit to set the stage....

She had eaten about 1/2 of her yogurt for dinner while in the highchair. I left it sitting on the kitchen table with the spoon in it for her to possibly eat later. While making her lunch for tomorrow, she wanted to sit up in the regular chair. I put her up in a chair and gave her a sweet potato fry to eat. She was sitting there eating while I was cooking dinner. Of course, next thing you know, I turn around and this is what I see....

Yep, I have NO clue how she got up there to get it down... well, obviously I have a clue, but I am pretty impressed that she did it safely, quietly and managed get herself back into the same position she was in before! We have a little Houdini on our hands!

Of course, after going "WHAT?!" I just grabbed the camera and started laughing!

Despite it looking like a big ol' mess, she did do a pretty good job getting some of it in her mouth!

Oh yeah, did I mention, the best is yet to come...

Yep! She DUMPED the rest of it ALL OVER HERSELF!

Good to the last drop!!

Well, tonight was bath night anyways, so why not let her enjoy herself, right!?!

She has been getting a bit slap happy around 6:30 each night! She will act sooo crazy! She has been just busting out in this crazy laugh, even covering her mouth to laugh! It is the cutest thing!

This is the scrunchie nose smile we have been getting as well! She almost has a little snort to her laugh!! It is so hilarious!!

She has figured out that if she blows on the wrong end of her sippy cup, she can make a whistle noise!
Cruisin' around all evening long!

We did have a follow up doctor appointment today after work. Her ears are just about 100% cleared up and her rash & fever are long gone! Thank goodness! She did get her flu shot today, but the little champ didn't even flinch or shed a tear!

#7 & Milk

Mckenna's 7th tooth popped on through yesterday! It is the bottom right tooth! She now has 4 on top and 3 on the bottom!

She also finally started drinking her milk out of a sippy/straw cup! She has been such a picky little thing about drinking milk out of the cup, but she finally drank milk all day long! She drank so much (which was only 15oz or so) that she wasn't interested in a bottle last night at bed time... so we also no longer are taking ANY bottles :( She has now gone 2 nights without a bed time bottle... my baby is getting so big!

Walking around, no bottles... I guess I now have toddler, not a baby :(

Bananas for Breakfast

On Monday morning Mckenna enjoyed some Bananas for Breakfast. She has not been wanting to eat diced fruit lately, but this morning wanted some banana. I gave her a big chunk of banana and she went to town!! What a mess!

Next time we eat bananas, we will NOT be wearing clothes!!

Bonding over waffles

One of Mckenna's favorite foods is frozen Eggo waffles! Many mornings we have been popping them in the toaster and we sit on our living room floor eating them together. No butter, no syrup... just a toasted waffle. I eat mine and she eats the pieces of hers that I feed her. She loves them!!

Bad Blogging

I have been a bad blogger over the course of the last week. My days are so busy at work, combined with an active little girl... makes no time for me to sit and get something typed out! I have been taking lots of pictures, though. Well, I have been taking pictures, however each time I start my little angel crawls to me and climbs up me to grab the camera or the strap!

Socks are fun to play with!

Table & finger foods =Messy eating!

Some pictures from our morning today!! SHE IS ALL OVER!!

Looking sweet and innocent!!

Notice her favorite toy of tupperware behind her!!

"Ella blue" our elephant is another favorite toy!

Time to climb up!

Skinny minnie's capri's are a little big!

Busy Week - Tuesday

Mckenna LOVES to eat!! She is very into feeding herself and banging on her tray when she wants more! She is really good at feeding herself puffs, mums, yogurt melts, and crunchies.... however she struggles a bit with fruits and veggies because of how slippery they are. I have been making her baby food thicker and chunkier, which she seems to like.

On Tuesday night I finally just globbed the sweet potatoes on her tray and let her go to town! She LOVED it! Oh boy was she messy, though!! Good thing it was bath night!

Sleep training...and baby food inventory

So officially night 1 of sleep training... yes, we did have her do some crying on Sunday, but after a little more research and preparing, last night was officially the night. And she did really good! As well as she slept swaddled up and in her boppy, once she realized she could move and roll over to her tummy, we were golden!

She slept most of last night on her tummy. Although that freaks me out a little bit, I have known for a while that as soon as she could roll around well she would be a tummy sleeper. She loves sleeping on top of me on my chest!

She did wake up a few times last night, however I was able to replace her paci and rub her head and she was back out, for the most part. No night feeding. No picking her up and rocking her. She stayed in her bed from 6:53pm until 6:10am. Yes, almost 12 hours! Some of the information I have read says that night 2 is worse, but some says it is better each night. We will see!

Last night after little peanut went to bed, I was in the kitchen tallying up what my 1st round of baby food making had produced. Here are the results....
  • 3 medium pears - 16 cubes/oz.
  • 3 medium bananas - 12 cubes/oz.
  • 1 medium avocado - 10 cubes/oz.

I don't have my receipt from the store with me, but I believe we spent about $2 on the pears, $1.25 on the bananas and $1 on the avocado... so $4.25 on the food. So that is about 11 cents per ounce of food. Not too bad. I believe the Gerber pears that I bought for her try were 4oz for $1.00. So less than half the price! And that is with the avocado that obviously costs more per ounce.

Monday, Monday

Back to the grind of the week. Nothing like getting back to work after having missed a day. It is so hard to play catch up. Not only do I have the paperwork aspect of missing a day and and IEP meeting, I also have 10 kids saying, "I thought I was going to see you Friday" along with teachers saying, "Since I missed you Friday... ". Not too fun!

The happier note is that my little peanut had another great day! She has transitioned to sleeping fully flat and in her crib without the Boppy. Today the sitter tried it as well and had great success! She came home with a little Valentine craft from the sitter's house, as well. It is always fun to get little things like that when I get there to pick her up! The big girls love "helping" her make her crafts!

Product Rave - Arnold Sandwich Thins! They are a cross between bread and a sandwich roll.... 100% whole wheat and 100 calories! They also have 5 grams of fiber in them!! Yummy! I tried uploading a picture, but it won't work. They look like flat hamburger buns and are in
the bread aisle! Try them out!!

And of course a day would not be complete without some pictures of the baby girl herself... these first two were today after enjoying some avocado and oatmeal. I think the bow just makes her look so much better with the green mush on her face!

These 3 are still from yesterday in her high chair...

So serious!!

We introduced a sippy cup of water during her dinner meal. It is one of the cups that they don't have to suck and the water/liquid just flows. She didn't want to hold it, but seemed to like having the water drip in her mouth!
