Frozen on Ice

Last week we got to go to the opening night of Frozen on Ice at the United Center.
The girls got the tickets for Christmas along with a paper chain count down to the day!
They were both super excited to go and arrived at my school all dressed in their Anna and Elsa costumes ready to go!

We loved seeing some of our favorite princesses at the beginning....

The WHOLE show was Frozen... it was so fun!

Playing School

My girls have a LOVE of school! They have reached an age together where like to play any type of dramatic play together... Most often it's "Mom and Kid" (house)... But lately it's becoming school.
They ask for homework constantly (weird)!

At 7am this morning they were doing "homework"... It was actually real work from workbooks and they were loving it!

Each night Mckenna has one page of homework from school. She also has a monthly homework calendar that lists extra practice activities in math, reading and writing that she can do. We do the extra activities a few nights a week. Tonight she chose a writing prompt. I let her type out her sentences instead of write them. She did really well! I was introducing the space bar to her and she kept calling it the "free space"!

Norah requests homework while Mckenna does hers. Right now she is working on identifying lower case letters and learning to write the letters in her name (she's got the O and H). One of her favorite new activities is letter search with dot paint!

Apparently tonight wearing sunglasses makes homework even more fun!!

Ah yes "school"! Guess who's the teacher (aka BOSS).
Notice the pointer!

Upper case letter ID for Norah! Dot painting the ones she's getting right! Oh goodness!!

And rewarding her correct answers with M&Ms!!!!

They sure make me laugh!!!

Frozen on Ice: The iPhone edition

Last night we FINALLY got to enjoy our evening at Frozen on Ice. It was worth the wait.... It was great!! While countdown from Christmas was long I was really impressed with the show!

On Tuesday night Mckenna decided she HAD to have an Elsa wig to wear to the show. (She had been asking for about 2 weeks but I kept hoping she'd forget!) Alas, Walmart had not only an Elsa wig, but also an Anna wig.

Sadly the Elsa wig was too small... So both are being returned.

Wednesday morning meant pulling down the last chain from our paper chain countdown!

Which also meant something new to fight about.

Erin brought the girls to my school and we got to play in my closet (office) for a bit before heading to dinner!

We were in the 7th row which was awesome!!

Norah clearly was cooperating!

Her first Disney on Ice!

There's the happy girl!!

The girls got to pick one treat.... We brought our own dolls with along with our light up wands from Disney world (mckennas idea!!)

Yum! Snow cones!

Snow cones taste better in Elsa and Anna mugs don't ya know?!? They are even BETTER when they cost $12 too!

And when you eat 3 bites and switch to cheesy popcorn from home!

Taking it all in!

Stop singing Mom!

It was really a great show! The reenacted the whole movie on ice.... Usually they just do a small 10 minute snip of the story at these things!

More pictures to come! I managed to brig my real camera (and used it!!)!
