Girly Bedrooms

There is nothing more fun (to me) than getting to design and create fun spaces for my kids!
I am luck enough to have been able to create 3 different spaces for my kids... so far!
Today I thought I would feature Mckenna and Norah's rooms... I really love them!
Yes, I realize I am biased! Ha!

First up is Norah's Room!
When I was pregnant with her I had envisioned a room that was soft and light. A direct opposite of Mckenna's bright and vibrant room. Here is her room:

Light Purple, Soft Grey and White
I made the mobile hanging in the corner/center of the room.
I will be posting a little "how to" about that in the coming weeks!

Her room is pretty big, so I was able to add the side table with lamp. I didn't have these pieces in Mckenna's nursery. The rest of the furniture was from Mckenna's nursery.
I love featuring their newborn pictures above the change table/dresser. Reminds me daily of how tiny and peaceful they were!
I made the bow holder above the bookshelf, as well. Super easy project... coming soon!

Here is Mckenna's bright and vibrant toddler room. She loves this room!
I had a HARD time finding bedding that was appropriate for her age that was Queen sized...
who knew?!
This ruffle set came from Target... I stumbled upon it on Black Friday 2011 in a sleepy fog around 5am!  Its a "teen" set but I thought it was fun!

I had bought the curtains before the bedding... what a silly thing to do! Oh Well!
I wish we could afford custom built ins for her around that window!

I just LOVE here dresser! Its HUGE!!!
This fun frame above her dresser is a wood design from Michaels that I painted. The photo is very creatively mounted in it, as these are pieces that can be created into anything.... its the same piece above in Norah's room as a bow holder!

And just because I randomly have a picture on my computer... this was the original nursery we had for Mckenna in our first house! Sniff sniff! It seems like that was soooo long ago!
We didn't know her gender, so this was our neutral room! It took FOREVER to pain those stripes!

Couple weeks after Mckenna's arrival!

Kids Rooms

This week on Kelly's Korner she is featuring kids rooms.
I am excited to share the different rooms I have done for Mckenna and Norah!

When I was pregnant with Mckenna we did not know her gender, so we put together a gender neutral nursery for the baby.

When Mckenna arrived we added some "girlie" touches to the room to make it special for her!

Here is a link to more pictures of her room as a neutral room, as well as when we added girlie touches!

When we moved into our current home in August of 2010, Mckenna was just about a year old, so we were in between a nursery and starting to think about a big girl room for her. We painted the walls the same yellow from her nursery at the old house and then added hot pink accents to the room.

Here is her room for the first year or so that we lived in our house.

Once we moved her into her big girl bed when she turned 2 we started turning the room more into a big girl room.

When we found out we were having another girl I was so excited to do another girl room! Since Mckenna's room was so bold and bright, I wanted to go soft and relaxing!

Here is the link to the first post I did on Norah's room

Thanks for stopping by to view our rooms! Hope you enjoyed seeing them!

Mckenna's Room Updates

I have finally put the finishing touches on Mckenna's Big Girl Room!
Yes, it has been busy around here!

To see the room reveal of her big girl room, go HERE

New frame above her dresser. I found these frames at Michaels and bought one for each of the girls rooms. I love that they each turned out so different!

Yes, she looks SO old in her 2 1/2 pictures!

I added this wall canvas to her room, as well! I had been debating between a million different ideas for this little space. I really like how it turned out!
I painted the canvas and then added the wall vinyl to it
(ordered the custom wall vinyl through an etsy shop)

The quote is a Winnie the Pooh/Christopher Robin quote that I had modified a bit... I love it!

Have a I mentioned that my camera has been out getting repaired for the last 6 weeks?!? It is making me crazy!! I have been taking pictures with my little pocket camera and/or phone camera.... very obvious here with the bad lighting on these pictures!

Big Girl Room Reveal

The big girl room is just about done... we have a few finishing touches to add to it, but since they won't be done soon, I figured I would post the pictures now!

THE BIG GIRL ROOM!
View from just inside her door

Baby sleeping and eating area. This is where Baby Grace (her Bitty Baby) sleeps and eats each day.

View from in front of the windows. I have a wall piece picked out for the left of the closet door there, but haven't ordered it yet. That is a small bow holder between the doors. It holds the small clips we are using for keeping her bangs back through the "grow out" phase.
New dresser (that her Daddy did, as she will tell you). I also have a decor piece to put together for above the dresser. Hopefully over spring break that will get done! Her big bow holder is behind her door.

Proud big girl! Pant-less and wearing big girl undies on a fun potty training Sunday!
Showing you where she sleeps like a big girl! Ha!

Mckenna loves her big girl room, especially the fun big bed to jump on and jump off of!

Kelly's Nursery Tour

I am linking up today with Kelly's Korner for the Shows Us Your Life Home Tour!

This week she is featuring nurseries.
I am going to show the pictures of Mckenna's first room.... we moved when she was 10 months old and are in the transition between baby & big girl room right now. The room was planned as gender neutral and then we added the pink touches upon her arrival!

This was Mckenna's room before we knew she was a girl.... cute, gender neutral and ready for a little prince or princess!

View from the doorway

Straight in front of you from the hallway door

Back when the diaper cake was still assembled :(
Art work that I made to go with the animals on the bedding

Yes, all that clothing and we didn't even know the gender!!!

Book/Reading corner

At our baby shower each guest brought a book for baby instead of a card! Such a great idea and now we have TONS of books!

This is Mckenna's room when she was 2 weeks old! How quickly things change!!
We added her name in pink, pink tie backs on the curtains and the little words above the window.

We also added the frame pictures of her newborn shots above the dresser/changing table.
We had this sign made for her bedroom door.... it lists on of her birth stats...
We are HUGE Sox fans!

Thanks for checking out our pictures!!
