Hello House

We had our home inspection yesterday at our new house... overall, it went pretty well. No big surprises, which was a big relief. They are still working on completing the work to the house. They are running 10 days late as of today. Good grief!

I am trying to be patient because the more they are doing now is less we have to do ourselves... but I just don't want it all to delay our potential closing date. As of right now, the lender says we can still close by July 21st... I am slowly beginning to doubt that, though. We will see. The carpet and countertops are now supposed to be done this weekend.

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday during the inspection. I meant to take more, but forgot.

This is when you walk in the front door. Stairs are on your left. Door at the top of the stairs is the 2nd bedroom... Carpeting coming today?

To the left of the kitchen... end of the hall opens into the main level bedroom. Door on left goes into garage.. door on right into main level bathroom. Open door way leads to kitchen. Door hinges on the left that are barely in the picture go to the basement door.

Sniff. Sniff. Good bye house :(

I am a little bit sad about leaving our house. We have lived in it for 6 years... planned our wedding in the house. Brought Mckenna home to the house. Had LOTS of parties at the house. I am sad to leave it. Though, happy that we are finally packed and out of it.

When we were at the house yesterday gathering up the last load of laundry and some cleaning supplies, I busted out the camera to take some pictures of my empty house. Jim stated it best, "Oh no, Mckenna, here we go... she's going to get emotional on us!"

THE MOVE

Yes, THE MOVE has been happening... the packing has been never ending and now here we are, moved. Well, just about!

Our closing got moved to next week, but we have gone ahead and moved. It was a very crazy day, but we are here. Just about settled. Mckenna is asleep. She and I are both sick. We had to make a run to the doctor today to get her checked out during the move. She has a virus and there really isn't much we can do.

I am beat. Off to relax!

Up to nothing

Up to nothing... pretty much! We have been busy packing, packing and more packing! Our house is in a constant state of chaos. The garage is slowly filling up with everything that will get packed in our POD when it arrives next week.... then there is the stuff that is going with us to our temporary house. Then the stuff we need for current living, plus camping and vacation. Yikes!

Mckenna was helping me pack some boxes the other morning. This was while I was still working on packing the kitchen and main level of our house.

Phase 2 - Complete

I have divided our home buying experience into 4 phases in my mind.... we have been so cautiously optimistic with this whole buying process that we will not be calm until we have the keys to the front door!

Phase 1 - Offer made and responded to - CHECK
Phase 2 - Signed contract from bank in hand - CHECK
Phase 3 - Completed inspection w/o major issues - Coming week of 6/21 ??
Phase 4 - Closing - Happening week of 7/19 ??


A couple of weeks ago Nana brought over a Little Tykes Swing and Slide set for Mckenna... here she is swinging away! She loves it when I sit on the ground in front of the swing and kiss her toes when she swings back to me!

Rough time!

Catching up

Yes, it has been awhile once again.... hopefully I will get back in the swing once school is over. We have 2 more days. Thank goodness!

Back on May 23rd we accepted an offer on our house!! Yeah!! After a long process of trying to sell, we finally did. It was only on the market for about 4 1/2 months this time around, but the memories of the year it was listed before haunt us! The buyer wants to close July 1st, so we have been BUSY packing and trying to get things in line because we don't have a house to buy yet....

Or so we thought! Last weekend we found a house that just so happens to be a foreclosure. We thought we were in for a LONG grueling process of dealing with the bank... however much to our surprise after officially submitting an offer in on Friday morning, the bank responded with a counter on Friday afternoon! Upon confirmation of a couple of odds and ends details, we will be accepting their counter!! Holy Moly! What have we gotten into!! Hopefully the process goes smooth. Next up would be the inspection. We know that there are a couple of serious things that we need to have looked at, so hopefully nothing else will spring up in the mean time. We could, and I emphasize, could, be on our way to having a house sooner than expected.

On to the star of the show.... she has been a busy little girl lately. She is pulling up on EVERYTHING and going after Sox and Milo with full force! She is standing in her crib, the pack and play and wants to be down on the floor 24/7. Here are some recent pictures to capture the latest and greatest....
