On Monday we headed downtown for a little fun at Navy Pier.
Jim is training for a 1/2 marathon right now. He had been wanting to run downtown along the lake for one of his big runs, so we made a day of it. I dropped him off at the Museum of Science and Industry and he ran to Oak Street Beach (9miles) and then turned around and ran back down to Navy Pier (1mile) to get in a 10 mile run!!! It only took him 1 hour and 40 minutes!!
After dropping him off, I took the girls to down to Navy Pier and we headed to the Chicago Children's Museum to play while Daddy ran. Back in July when we bought our museum pass we bought the family pass that let's you get into all the children's museums for free... so that was just one of our many adventures to children's museums!
Down by the water!
The "big" exibit at the the museum right now is called Circus Zircus. It is set up just like a circus with activities for the kids to try out! Mckenna loved this one!
Trying to walk on stilts! She did a pretty good job!
The Ring Masters Stand
They had this swing and then an acrobat bar with nice tumbling pads underneath.
Welcome to the show! Ha!
They had dress up clothes for ring masters and clowns!
Apparently we went in the wrong side because we left the exhibit and found the ticket booth!
Norah liked the bright lights in the exhibit!
Off to the water room! Most of the children's museums seem to have a water feature, which is always a HUGE hit!
Construction abd building exhibit.... climbing in the skidster!
They had a cute "backyard" exhibit with climbing ropes and slides.... we had to enlist Daddy's help!
Looking cute in the tent!
Mommy and Norah
After we explored the museum, we ate lunch and walked around Navy Pier a bit.
Of course, we had to take a spin on the carousel. This was Mckenna's first time!!
Daddy took her on for her first ride!!
We had a fun day at Navy Pier and the museum... I'm sure we will be back soon!!
